san diego fun ~ this and that

all through my growing up years our homeschooling group would head out and brave the wild seas to catch a glimpse of a whale. i have always loved it.  we went this trip and saw something i’ve never seen, a pod of seven whales breeching!  it was awesome.

we were able to get together with corrie and her niece and nephew. we hadn’t seen the kids in two years, but the kids had SO much fun together…so much that eli wanted so badly to be related to them:) “are you SURE we’re not related to them?”

we stayed with kylee and brian this trip.  the kiddos had a great time with this cutie!

the aquarium of the pacific is just an awesome place.  feeding the lorikeets is always a favorite…

at first lyla wanted nothing to do with them on her arm, she fed them from the fence…

but she braved through it!

we had beautiful february weather for our trip.  the beach is always eli’s favorite place to be…

new things

both kiddos have been stepping out and trying some new things. this is eli’s first year in basketball. he has never played a team sport, so this is a whole new world for him.  he’s loving it and has a fun team.

lyla is taking ballet through our co-op. she’s having a blast, mostly because one of her best buddies, emma, is taking it too.  

lessons

january was a month of riding.  eli has snowboarding lessons and we got to ski a ton with friends.
