cousinly fun…

the last few days have been play, play, play….and play some more…

we visited the california science center, which was awesome…

eli is 7!

about eli at 7:

~this year has brought a lot of change for eli.  he started homeschooling  “for real” this year.  he is doing well and surpassing his teachers projections by leaps and bounds.  he would say he doesn’t like it, but he is enjoying being able to read and loves math.  he goes to tutoring once a week and looks forward to it every time.  homeschool co-op has been a blast for him this year and he especially likes lego class and the friends he has there.

~he still loves wrestling. fighting. guns. knives. skiing. beyblades. pokemon. and his friends.

~his new interest this year is drawing. he never liked it much until recently, but now it is one of his favorite pastimes.

~he’s loosing teeth like it’s going out of style…he only has 2 in the front right now and has lost 6 this year.

~until about an hour ago, he thought it was, “birtday.”  he just saw it written out and wanted to know if the “h” was silent:)

~oh, and he still has the sweetest heart.

we celebrated him with his cousins and a dinner at my parents house.  here they are making a massive beyblade arena…

instead of us decorating the cake, we gave them different candies and let them do it themselves…

trick or treat

i love pumpkin carving.  love the smell. the slime. the seeds.  they love it too…

they were able to do a lot of their own carving this year

oh so late…

it’s been busy around here…but I don’t want to pass up some of our favorite boise fall activities.  farmstead is always a ton of fun.  julie and her family joined us this year for a stroll through the corn maze, a bounce on the jumping pillow and fun in the corn box…

we’re here!

we arrived in LA friday morning.  yesterday we went to shane and hailey’s soccer games.  they are both very intense players!  here hailey and lyla are cheering shane on in his game…

they were far away and move so quickly so pictures were difficult, but you can see the determination on shane’s face here…

here’s hailey with her ponytail flying.  she says they won 7-3, but who’s keeping score, right?

today we went to the beach.  it was a beautiful day…

the wedding

the reason for our trip to california was the marriage of michael and destiny.  it was a beautiful setting and a beautiful ceremony.  the lovely view from our seats…

making the marriage sweeter, the father of the bride was our college pastor.  he pastored the group where adam and i met, dated and married.  our begining as a couple has so. many. memories. with him.  it was a real treat to see him:)  i wish his wife, debbie, was in the picture too.  her shy sweet spirit is something i've always admired.
