willow lane

we had playgroup at the new and improved willow lane park. wow. what a setup they have. the kids had so, so, so much fun.

as we were ready to leave the wieber girls found this strange little guy (or little buddy, as lyla would say). he is some sort of caterpillar and now resides in a jar on our counter. we're hoping for a chrysalis soon.

    We searched and found out that it's the spicebush swallowtail caterpillar. Check this out!

    The brown ones are babies and one of the defense mechanisms of the full grown (I'm assuming, full grown) caterpillars, are a pungent smell emitted.
