lyla took a quilting class at co-op this year and learned the basics. she made this mini quilt completely by hand. so proud of her ♥

He is RISEN!

we celebrated easter with church in the morning and had potluck and egg hunt in the afternoon.

it’s all about the food

anyone who has been around lyla for any length of time knows how she feels about food. her asking for a snack AS WE ARE CLEANING UP FROM DINNER is no rarity. so it made tons of since today when she said,  “one of my favorite parts of the day is when i find out what we are having for dinner.”  at least age has something to look forward to every.single.day;)

grandma's quilt

my mom gave me this old quilt from my grandma camp. it's a scrap quilt and funky in all the right ways. it hadn't been washed in a looooong time, so i threw it in the washing machine...it.fell.apart. luckily the top and back stayed together, but the batting was in a ball in one corner of the quilt. so i took it apart and it ended up being a good thing because i was able to patch all the worn and torn parts, add nice, cotton batting and a cute binding.

about twenty patches on worn spots just added to the funky nature of the quilt...

hailey and jesse

all the buzz around here has been about jesse and hailey’s winter visit, they finally made it here yesterday...

first day on the hill

hailey and jesse came just in time to join us for our first day on the hill. they bring the good snow. the last two times they have came up the snow has been perfect. feel free to come up in early december next year!
