we went to south coast botanical gardens at just the perfect time. everything was in bloom after so-cal got a ton of rain this winter. it was beautiful!

eli found this cool sea slug... he was only 2" long and its colors were beautiful!

we celebrated hailey's birthday a little early, her last year as a kid! happy 12th hailey!

birds of a feather...

my parents have four grandchildren, a girl and a boy for each of their girl and boy:) the oldest grandchild, a boy, and the youngest, a girl, share a personality type. and the two middles are so very similar that it blows me away. it's not like they spend a ton of time together. genes are funny things. here is another example, shane and lyla, the chicken whisperers...

when i asked lyla what she wanted to do in so-cal she said "hang out at shane and hailey's, go in the jacuzzi, play minecraft with hailey and go to the beach (to play in the sand, not go in the water).  our first day we checked off three out of four on her to do list.

the drive, red rock canyon

the kids and i caravanned with my parents to LA. it was a beautiful day for a drive. stopped at red rock canyon for a pitstop...
