the port fountains

we went to the fountains by the port of LA to ride some scooters and get wet.

i love the zoo

we saw pretty much the whole zoo, with the exception of the rhinos and camels, which the kids will never (never!) let us forget.  it was an exhausting but super fun day.

as we were leaving california eli was pretty sad.  the thing that cracked me up was when he said, “i just love the plant life.”  so this picture is in honor of  him…

the monkey otter exhibit is one of my favorites,  the otter was swimming and running and putting on a pretty good show.  he then went up and kissed the monkey…

i'm totally kicking myself for not taking more pictures at our family parties.  i did get a few…

we took a nice walk at la jolla with adam’s dad and ellen.  it was a beautiful morning…

ahhhhh, the beach

we pulled up to the beach to find a mama and baby humpback breeching just off shore.  it was one of the coolest things i've seen.  we grew up going whale watching and i've seen many whales, but never something like this.  not to get all sappy, but it was just beautiful.
