first, Eli did really well in school. i've been kinda dreading getting into the nitty gritty of phonics, but he got it! good. news.
then, we got to pick out our flooring for our new house. it’s pretty:)
after picking out our floors something really fun happened. first, a little back info: i'm not sure why, but i love to see trains on the move. there’s a train that goes through boise and once in awhile (when we’re lucky:) we get stopped and get to watch it pass. today we pulled into a parking lot adjacent to the tracks and unbuckled the kiddos so they could get out and see it up front and personal in all it's massive glory;)…but then it stopped about 200 yards before it got to us.
the kids ran through the empty parking lot down to where the train was parked. as we approached the engine the conductor waved us over and asked if we wanted to come up in the cockpit. yes please! THEN, he asked if we wanted to drive. so we got to drive the train down to our car. how cool! here i am all excited just to see the train go by up close and then get to drive! that just doesn’t happen every day.
and lastly, we went in for early voting and there was a good sized line. in general, long lines are not something i like to see. but it was exciting to see people exercising their freedom and right to vote. it’s a gift that we take for granted far too often.
yay for good days.
