eli: I caught a big fish!
me: You did!?! You caught a big fish!?! (just imagine my enthusiasm)
big fish stories obviously start young, but he almost immediately admitted...
eli: no, it was little
he was still very proud, as were we.

one of my favorite SNL skits was dana carvey's "choppin' broccoli." it was back in the day when some skits were actually funny and not horribly crude...what a concept. every time i'm cutting up broccoli for dinner i hear him in my head. if you haven't seen it, you should go to utube and view the live version.
anyway, all that said because we're enjoying the first fruits of our garden...broccoli! it is sooo much better than the kind in the store. we've also planted a few different kinds of tomatoes, bell peppers (for fajitas...yum!), giant pumpkins (for halloween), strawberries, corn (which is not doing so well, not sure why) squash, cilantro and basil. i wish we had more garden space...
i was going through the pictures from the camp family visit and found this beautiful one of my mom and hailey...
my brother and his family are here for a visit. my nephew, shane, is four and my niece, hailey, just turned one. my parents rented a pontoon boat and we had a nice afternoon on the lake.
adam caught a nice size bass. eli was so very excited but still did not want to get close to the fish. to get him to take a picture daddy had to be between the two.
jesse's fishing adventure was not quite a success. could have been the snoopy fishing pole.
