the shake challenge

IMG_7697
the ingredients:soy sauce, mustard, milk, juice, carrots, grapes, banana, ketchup, blueberries, beats, radishes, apples, cheese, pineapples, watermelon, chocolate syrup, maple syrup, and a few others that I can’t remember.  they wrote each ingredient on a piece of paper and each picked 10 and blended it.  the tasty stuff didn’t even come close to covering up the grossness. they loved every second.

needless to say, only sips were taken, haha.

photobooth

my lovely friend gabe held a beautiful garden party, complete with a photo booth for endless entertainment.

lyla would have spent the WHOLE party in the booth. she’s quite the ham. eli wasn’t quite as excited about it at first, but in a very short time his inner diva came shining through.IMG_7775

falling trees

IMG_6876
we love trees, don’t get me wrong. but two full size blue spruce trees in our yard was a little much.  from our kitchen window i could see ….you guessed it…spruce. no sky. no skyline. just spruce.  they just had to come down.  this was my “view,” and it made me a little claustrophobic.

they were big mamma jamas…eli and his friend jeremiah helped a LOT.

meanwhile, i loaded the van with replacements…i’m telling ya, i’m beyond thankful for my minivan.

after a lot of digging, rock removing, and stump cutting, we finally got to plant.  i love being able to see the sky and the trees blow in the wind. it’s scary taking down such huge trees, i was afraid i wouldn’t like it, but I LOVE it. such a relief:)
