we had a quiet Christmas this year. we are saving vacation time for february, that’s when cabin fever really kicks in and we need some sunshine.

| eli had a birthday party tonight, so adam and I took lylapants out for sushi, her favorite. this smile says it all... |

this is eli's last year in the single digits.
he is beyond his years in so many ways, and in others, still blissfully ignorant of the goings on in the real world.
he is THE MOST inquisitive person i know.
he's caring.
he needs the least sleep a person could possibly live with and happens to be the only morning person in the family.
he's funny.
his new favorite pastime is riding his trick scooter at the skate park.
he’s always up for something…anything!
people are IMPORTANT to him.
he will sing any song, but doesn’t know the real words to any song.
he’ll be trying out basketball for the first time, this will be his first team sport.
he’s a great skier and is taking snowboarding lessons this year.
those last two remind me that he’s growing up…slowly it seems, but it’s oh.so.fast. he branching out and we could not be prouder.
now, on to the party…
we went with a nerf-battle-in-the-backyard theme. it was a blast...pun intended. BUT, before the battle began, we had to make our blow dart guns…

| it was a crazy crew, but most of the time was spend outside, so it worked out well:) last year his birthday was on the coldest day of the year with a high of 9 degrees. this year it was a balmy 54! |

| going to idaho city to cut down our tree has become a tradition. this year we almost went over a cliff (adam says we were fine, but eli and I felt otherwise, hahaha). we found a beautiful tree… |
