shopping

lyla and i got to spend some quality time shopping yesterday. my favorite part was when i tried on a dress that was a bit baggy and she said, "oh my gosh!!! that shirt is way too big for you!"

it's nice to have a second opinion:)

overnight...

...our little buddy went from this...

...to this...

you can see his little web things holding himself onto the stick

i must admit, this freaked me out a bit. how does a plump little chunker like that dry out and shrivel up OVERNIGHT? not only that, but it GREW HORNS. so. so. weird.

God is truthful - John 3:33

eli started AWANA last week and LOVES it. he has a memory verse every week, which is proving to be difficult (and it's only the first week!). we've gone over it the last few days, multiple times each time, multiple times per day...multiple, multiple, multiple.

this evening while giving them a bath i said, "God is..." and lyla said, "truthful!" yes, dear. that's right. she's going to have a jump on AWANA. by the time she starts in 2 years she'll already know all the verses:) eli, on the hand, has been coming up with stuff like, "Jesus loves people," and "God loves everyone." both true statements. both wrong answers. but just right now, right before bed, he said "God is truthful. John 3:33" yay him!!!

willow lane

we had playgroup at the new and improved willow lane park. wow. what a setup they have. the kids had so, so, so much fun.

as we were ready to leave the wieber girls found this strange little guy (or little buddy, as lyla would say). he is some sort of caterpillar and now resides in a jar on our counter. we're hoping for a chrysalis soon.

mama's weekend

we've been on a countdown for months. a whole weekend away with friends, no kiddos, just us. it was really fantastic. what awesome daddy's we have in our group to give us such a gift.

a rundown of events: arrive at our temporary home, sequel at our temporary home, unpack, take a walk by the lake looking for the sushi restaurant, find sushi the restaurant, eat sushi, laugh a lot, go for a dip in the jacuzzi, talk, stay up late talking, laugh a lot, sleep...until 9:30am, eat breakfast, go thrift store shopping, go on a beautiful hike, crochet, make dinner, eat, laugh a lot, crochet, watch pride and prejudice, stay up late, sleep in, load up, move out, drive home, hug beautiful kiddos, happy. phew.

the saturday hike. i forgot to take a picture of the fall:(

the hikers

and last but not least, mr. foxy fox strutted his stuff outside our window every day, he was such a poser...

such fun!

night glow

we went to night glow...which wasn't exactly what i thought it was going to be. i thought the balloons would be IN the AIR, not ON the GROUND. But it was still pretty:)

isabelle trying to catch captain mojo

lyla loves laying on a spread out towel...then getting back up...then laying back down...then getting back up...

lyla and i at the helm

i love these of eli driving the boat...
