eli got a fake tattoo at the home and garden show. it is of a "super hero," aka the Bryant Man (yes, the heating and air conditioning guy). he has been taking off his clothes, running around the house in his underwear and yelling, "superhero to the rescue!!!"

gardening

adam and eli started planting our garden today. it's still to cold for a lot of things but broccoli, cabbage and strawberries are now in the ground..and a single pansy that eli got at the home and garden show. here are some pictures of him watering it...he the wanted to "watch it grow...to 70 feet tall." i think he's going to be disappointed.

first pool experience

kristin, luke and julia invited us to go swimming at the y this morning. how fun! it was lyla's first time in a pool and wearing a bathing suit (thanks julia:)...it was almost to much for me to handle, the cuteness factor was way out of control. here are some pictures of fun (it's a little lyla fest, but i could not help it).

last night was the much anticipated (for me at least) ladies night out. we went bowling at boise state, which i have to say was far nicer than i expected. i feel so blessed to have such fun and sweet friends! l to r - chelsea, suzanne, miranda, kristin, keri and me.

the weekend

on saturday we went out to dinner with (our fabulous friends) the porterfields. we went to the cheesecake factory for a tasty dinner and then to starbucks for a drink. it was really fun to visit with greg and suz who we don't get to see enough of anymore. eli and lyla stayed with my parents... sort of. it was lyla's frist time staying with grandma and papa. to make a long story short, she ended up joining us on our double date. thankfully we got to eat and have a great dinner and actually talk with our friends before she arrived.

we found out today that she has another double ear infection, which is why i think she flipped. she knows my parents and i thank she would normally be ok with them for a few hours, but she had been fussy all day and i think leaving her pushed her over the edge.

before our date, we went to a birthday party at a gymnastics studio. eli and lyla had a great time:)

3 going on 14

playgroup was at my friend melinda's house this week. she has an adorable daughter, katelyn. at breakfast that morning i told eli where we were going...he said, "they have those animals there! and kedrick had that gun and that boy hit me." he was explaining all the things that happened last time playgroup was at melinda's (five months ago!). then he said, "katelyn...she's pretty...do you think she wants to see me and how strong i am?"

later that night at dinner adam asked what he thought of katelyn. "poo poo poopy poo poo," replied eli. adam confirmed, "yep, he's in love."

seriously...addicted

since i learned how to crochet eli has been asking me, "what are you making me?" i always felt bad because i was making a blanket for lyla. i told him that i would make him something soon, so here is mister man in his new hat.

i've been wanting to learn how to crochet for a while now. so with the help of my friend kristie and youtube, i'm officially addicted. this is my first project, a doll blanket for lyla. i'm going to make her a matching one, bigger of course, so her and her dolls can be cozy together. it's not perfect, but i made it with my own ten fingers:)

meat garden?

while we were grocery shopping yesterday i was explaining to eli how we are going to have a garden in the summer. "we are going to grow tomatoes, squash, strawberries and broccoli," i told him. "where is the hamburger plant?" he asked. don't cows wish:)

again...

double ear infection and RSV. poor girl really can not get a break.

crab

eli has been asking us if he can eat some crab meat lately. so we went to joe's crab shack tonight (so very cheesy) figuring it was family friendly. he ordered "hermit crab" from the waitress, it was so cute. i think he like the idea of it more than he actually liked the meat. but he had a good time.

lyla is sick again, this time with a really bad cough and lots of congestion. she is so miserable:(
i bought her this hat for next year...you know, to cheer her up:)
